Good morning, shoppers!
OK, we can all agree that the switch from our thighs sticking to the subway seats to seriously contemplating investing in a snuggie for casual daytime wear was a bit abrupt, no? Give a gal some warning, why doncha. This calls for lots and lots of hot mint tea.

Last week, I realized my sneakers were slowly taking over my apartment. My shoe rack had become a game of Nike-branded Jenga, with pairs of Daybreaks stacked on top of each other and Air Maxes hanging on for dear life. It was time I gave my collection a proper home, time to invest in some real storage. Enter this system of clear, stackable containers, designed to fit together and keep kicks free of dust and debris. Twenty-four little boxes later, what I’ve lovingly dubbed my Shoeseum was born, freeing up lots of space and finally convincing me I have enough sneakers. —MC
At the risk of sounding like the caption of every thirsty-ass Instagram selfie circa 2014, lately I’ve got that red lip classic thing that you like going for me. Since emerging from my cave more often in the past monthish, I’ve once again embraced the power of a bold lip to really pull the room (my face) together. My collection has gotten a little ridiculous, but I can’t stop. There’s Fenty’s classic Stunna, which could take a girl to her grave without budging, and the lush Violette Petal Bouche, which is surprisingly buildable. Agent Carter wore Besame’s Red Velvet, and so do I (plus, it smells like a cupcake), and let’s not forget NARS’ classic Cruella, which I wore on my wedding day. Sephora’s lip stain in Always Red is a recent addition to the family, and a real winner. What can I say, they’re all so different. The two best tools for wearing a red lip on a Tuesday? Invisible lip liner and a good friend to tell you if something’s gone terribly awry. —KW
Now, while I may own more than enough pairs of sneakers, what I’m lacking are loafers. It’s been hard for me to find something that doesn’t look orthopedic so it feels like I’ve been on a years-long quest for the perfect pair. With a chunky sole and crocodile motif, Intentionally Blank has a very fun play on the classic horsebit look and then there’s Target, who has done it for a lot less in off-white and tan. What are you wearing? Help me put an end to this never-ending search, please! —MC
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: preordering a book is the best gift you can give yourself. I’ve had a hard time putting down Naomi Novik’s latest, The Golden Enclaves, the third and final installment in her Scholomance series. Think of it like Harry Potter, but if Hermione was the hero and was also kind of evil, and there were no teachers and also the school wanted to kill her. Alluring, right? The whole series is absolute aces, and perfect for reading while rain dumps outside. —KW
It’s hard to argue with good design. Altura has created something I didn’t know I needed, but now cannot stop thinking about. This piece is a true hybrid; part step stool and part side table. Something that’s both aesthetically pleasing, weight-bearing, and not too bad to look at, this piece is proof that good (multipurpose) things do come in small packages. –MC
Halloween is a hot topic around my house lately. We talk a lot with my kid about what she wants to dress as (either the same caterpillar costume she wore as both a 2 and 3-year-old, or maybe Ariel from The Little Mermaid, depending on her mood), what kind of candy she’ll get, and on and on. The mission of ‘Ween Dream is to distribute free Halloween costumes to those in need. It was founded after Hurricane Katrina and has since expanded to serve more kids. I love ALL of the products this week. I seriously want a shoeseum and am contemplating which shade of red lipstick to start with. Maybe it is time for the caterpillar costume to go to "Ween Dream? Surely she has outgrown it by now. :-)
